2017 (feel good) project

I saw this on Facebook and thought it was a great idea.


I found a tall (½ gallon) jar. I love the brand Free People so cut up one of their bags to use as a top, cutting a slit at the top to add paper. Whenever something good happens or I finish a project, book, or anything, I write it on a small slip of paper, fold it up, then write a one word category on the outside: self-care, recovery, creativity, education, and so forth. It gets popped in to the jar for the future January 1st, 2018 unveiling. I know it’s ambitious to use a ½ gallon jar but you never know… and it wasn’t being used for anything else.

The beads next to it is from my yarn bomb tree.

One motivation is that from reading people’s posts listing what they’ve accomplished in 2016. My 2016 wasn’t great and I found it difficult to think of anything. Instead of listing all my failed attempts at life and getting depressed, I decided to focus on something I can do today, tomorrow, and the rest of this year, something tangible.
