2017 (feel good) project

I saw this on Facebook and thought it was a great idea.

I found a tall (½ gallon) jar. I love the brand Free People so cut up one of their bags to use as a top, cutting a slit at the top to add paper. Whenever something good happens or I finish a project, book, or anything, I write it on a small slip of paper, fold it up, then write a one word category on the outside: self-care, recovery, creativity, education, and so forth. It gets popped in to the jar for the future January 1st, 2018 unveiling. I know it’s ambitious to use a ½ gallon jar but you never know… and it wasn’t being used for anything else.

Here is my jar:

The beads next to it is from my yarn bomb tree.

One motivation is that from reading people’s posts listing what they’ve accomplished in 2016. My 2016 wasn’t great and I found it difficult to think of anything. Instead of listing all my failed attempts at life and getting depressed, I decided to focus on something I can do today, tomorrow, and the rest of this year, something tangible.
